Mike Williams 2019 Fantasy Outlook

#21 WR Mike Williams 2019 Fantasy Outlook

Mike Williams (Chargers)

6'4, 220 lbs

Mike Williams was the # 7 overall pick in the  2017 NFL draft because he is an elite talent. While his rookie year was almost a complete wash due to injury, last season he carved out a role and outproduced starter Tyrell Williams. In only 7 starts, he put up a modest 43 receptions for 664 yards but showed up big with 10 TD's. This is what drives the Mike Williams 2019 Fantasy Outlook.

Tyrell has left town and his 65 targets from last season are up for grabs. Williams is going to get more looks and will be facing #2 corners while some of the best in the league will shadow Keenan Allen. Now in his 3rd year, the historical breakout year for wide receivers, the sky is the limit.

The Chargers Phillip Rivers is coming off another big season and he never misses a game. Offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt also returns and the offensive line is solid. This is a really good offense that will put up points on the board.

He's a monster in the red zone with 7 of his 10 TDs coming from the 20-yard-line and in. His targets have nowhere to go but up, and he really started making plays last year. If Keenan Allen goes down with injury again, he's an instant WR1. He's slipping in drafts.
